Clothing - The Responsible Way Forward

If you have not been paying attention, you may have missed the news that the clothing industry has an increasingly negative impact on the environment. The 'fast fashion' movement has created a revolving door where low priced, poorly made clothes come in fast and furious, and go out as landfill at an alarming rate. The waste involved in the production of this disposable clothing further increases the harm that the fashion industry inflicts on the planet.

Just as the 'Slow Food' movement aims to support sustainable food production and celebrate local and traditional cuisine, so too should the fashion industry embrace sustainable fashion and clothing production.

Meredith and Howard Halpern

At H. Halpern Esq. we have adopted a new model for making our Dramatically Different Shirts. We buy our fabrics locally and our shirts are made locally. Each shirt is made to order. Every shirt we produce is created for the individual - the details and fit are unique to each person. That means no wasted inventory that needs to be dumped at the end of the season. And the quality of our production means that each garment is made to last.

While there are many reasons to feel good about purchasing our shirts, knowing you are part of a more responsible approach to fashion should make you stand a little taller in that FABULOUS H. Halpern Esq. shirt.
